Since the December 27 Israeli bombardment of Gaza began and people have seen with their own eyes the carnage and bloodletting even Israel friends are falling out of love with the Zionist state.
From Australia to Asia to Africa and from Europe and to Latin America, normal people are rising up against Israel's naked aggression towards the defenseless civilians of Gaza. Â Except for American politicians everyone is horror-struck. London has seen some of the fiercest opposition to the Israeli genocide and crimes against humanity.
Few days back Venezuela President Hugo Chaves has expelled the Israeli Ambassador from his country. Turkey, a staunch ally of Israel is also very disappointed so is the UN, the creator of the Zionist State.
Not to be left behind, thinking Jews are also worried. To them what the Zionist state is mindless and counter-productive.
Today on its 16th day of shelling and bloodletthing where almost 900 Ghazans are dead, almost half women and children, voices are similarly rising against the use of white phosphorous cluster bombs on Gaza, weapons that are prohibited by international law. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article5470047.eceÂ

You're dead wrong. Not everybody hates Israel, and not everybody who loves and supports Israel is Jewish. It's just that the brain-dead who hate Israel have louder mouths and less sense nd less willingness to live nd let live than the people who like Israel.
Look at the poster's name Carla. It's why Israel does "what they do". It's called self defense. Until Palestinians and many Muslims learn to love their children more than they hate Jews, there can never be peace.
The question here is, where is the outrage at the continued assault the Hamas has waged against Israel? I'm not altogether happy with Israel but recognize their absolute right to defend themselves. And, while many feel the Israeli response was excessive, it could also be argued that it was not excessive when it failed to stop the shelling of Israel.
Truth is, both sides must decide that people are more important than nations and that the continued hostility is killing people who shouldn't die, on both sides. The quicker they realize and recognize that, the quicker they can have peace.
I can't speak to the rest of the world, but there are many, probably most Americans, who do not hate Israel and support them. Most are confident that if Hamas quit their actions, the Israelis would cease all of their retaliation!
There is a genuine uprising against Israeli inequity the world can no longer watch or keep quiet. http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2009-01/10/content_10636273.htm

I hope that lifted the fog from your eyes.
I do understand the world's frustrations when they voice their concerns. The world has every right to turn against what they see as Israeli cruety and injustice.
Palestinians are human beings and they have a right to life and security. This is the most basic of all human rights, right to life, right to safety and right to dignity and freedom.
You should be ashamed of your self, equating Israel's aggression with Palestinian resistance. Had there been no occupation there would be no resistance.
Spot on, Only God is omnipotent. Bush and Co. should reflect their own mortality. Now anyone heard of Sharon lately? Can anyone tell me what has become of the blood thirsty Sharon? Deos Olmert ever reflect on what had brought him to office?

You are certainly entitled to your opinions and feelings! But don't make the assumption that what you believe is shared by most everyone. I've yet to talk to anyone who is ready to condemn Israel.
I certainly cannot say what is right and what is wrong in a situation involving totally non Americans halfway around the world and about which we receive differing and highly prejudicial in formation. The average American citizen has no way to accurately judge the situation so the side with the most eloquent apologists will hold sway in most instances. Heritage also plays a role. No one talks about this in a balanced manner, either Palestinians are scum terrorists or the Israelis are murderous scum, no halfway on any of it. As long as this is approached from an emotional basis, the likelihood of ending the hostilities is slim to none. Two things which need to be left out of any of this are emotions and religion.
I'm not about to condemn Israel. Do you think that if the shelling of Israel stopped the Israelis would continue to attack in Gaza? If you do, you differ from most people I know.
I have a lot of sympathy for the Palestinians and recognize they've received a raw deal. However, I cannot support leaders who would strap bombs onto children and send them to attack the other side. I cannot support leaders who mix their military into civilian areas to reduce the risk of bombing and insure that if it does occur, they can bemoan the attack on civilians.
Like I said, I haven't a solution to offer until we have an international organization with the power and will to control such situations! And that's not about to happen for some time. I've read Carter's book on the subject and thought it was probably as close to an unbiased document as one might find. He definitely recognizes wrongs perpetuated against Palestinians and recognizes Israel's inherent right to self defense at the same time.
If I should be ashamed of myself for comparing the acts of the two, perhaps you are correct, that the blame is less Israeli by far! Frankly, I have no reliable way of knowing one way or the other. But I know if the US were being shelled, I'd support going after those doing it a lot quicker than did Israel. I can only hope that those in the position to obtain the facts on this are able to make realistic and pragmatic decisions to hopefully end or limit the hostilities.
And, I"m not sure you can separate the Hamas/Gaza part of this from the entire cauldron that is the Mideast! The Israelis have good reason to not want the West Bank controlled by Hamas, given Hamas past practices. it would put launching capability in close proximity to civilian populations in Israel. Israel is setting there fearful of Iran and what they might do, at the present time. Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and all the others have to be considered as players in this drama.
Appreciate your sharing your thoughts with me!
None of those same nations/people would tolerate the constant abuse that Israelis suffer either without turning on their abusers. As long as Hamas and other terrorist groups hide among civilians and engage in calculated attacks for propaganda gain, the innocents of Gaza will suffer. After all, what is the suffering of people or the death of Palestinian low level terrorist cannon fodder against the goals of the brave (and hiding) leaders of Hamas.
Its actually bitterly funny to hear how much of the Arab/Muslim world is ready to fight to the last Palestinian in this endless war.
